general Highest-ranking officer of the Ylandrin army. Generals have no fixed units under them. In a war with another sovereign state, the Ardan appoints a general commander of the Ylandrin forces sent to the front. He may serve as commander-in-chief if the Ardan chooses not to head the campaign or has not yet reached his majority. A general can also be appointed superintendent of either the Military Academy near Ilmaren or the Fleet Academy in Vireshe.
